NDIS dietitian providing enteral feeding and tube feeding support at a home visit in South East Queensland

Providing enteral nutrition and tube feeding support through home visits across Logan, Ipswich and Redlands.

Nutrition care built around you

We build nutrition around your routines, your preferences and your sensory needs, starting with where you are now rather than a template. If getting to a clinic is hard, we come to your home or SIL house, or meet by telehealth.

Client-focused care from a team of three Accredited Practising Dietitians, so you are supported while working towards your plan goals. We keep OTs, speech pathologists, GPs and support coordinators informed after every appointment.

Sound familiar?

A few of the things participants and support coordinators say to us.

“I keep getting handed a generic meal plan that has nothing to do with my life.”

We build nutrition around your routines, preferences and sensory needs, not a template.

“I have seen a dietitian before but felt lectured, not understood.”

We start with what you are already doing and what you are capable of, then build from there.

“Getting to a clinic is hard. I need someone who can come to me.”

We visit homes, SIL houses and community settings across Logan, Ipswich and Redlands, and telehealth is always an option.

“Nobody talks to each other. My support team has no idea what the dietitian said.”

We write to your whole care team after every appointment so everyone is working together.

NDIS dietitian questions

What does an NDIS dietitian do?

Personalised nutrition support to help participants manage health conditions, improve their relationship with food and work toward their NDIS goals. This can include tube feeding management, chronic disease support, mealtime planning, texture-modified diets, malnutrition treatment and care tailored to sensory and communication needs, in clinic, at home or by telehealth.

Can I use my NDIS funding to see a dietitian?

Yes. Dietitian services are typically funded under the Capacity Building budget, Improved Health and Wellbeing line item. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can see non-registered providers like Thompson Community Dietitians. NDIA-managed participants may need to use a registered provider. Book a free discovery call and we can help you check.

Do I need a referral to see an NDIS dietitian?

No. If your GP, support coordinator or another health professional has recommended a dietitian, sharing that helps us prepare for your first appointment, and we coordinate care with them.

What is the difference between a registered and non-registered NDIS provider?

A registered provider has completed an audit and registration process with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. A non-registered provider like Thompson Community Dietitians has not, and self-managed or plan-managed participants are free to use either. NDIA-managed participants typically need registered providers.

Do you provide home visits for NDIS participants?

Yes, across Logan, Ipswich, Redlands and surrounding areas, including private homes, Supported Independent Living (SIL) houses, group homes and community settings. Telehealth is also available if you prefer a video call.

What is blenderised tube feeding?

Real food blended to a consistency that can pass through a feeding tube, as an alternative to commercial enteral formulas. Andrew has extensive experience in enteral nutrition and blenderised tube feeds and is one of few community dietitians in South East Queensland offering this service.

What happens at the first appointment?

A comprehensive nutrition assessment at your home or by telehealth, covering your health history, goals and what matters most to you. We then put together a service plan with clear nutrition goals and keep your care team informed.

What areas do you cover for NDIS home visits?

Logan City, Ipswich, Redlands and surrounding suburbs, including Marsden, Woodridge, Loganholme, Springfield, Goodna, Redbank Plains, Cleveland, Victoria Point and Capalaba. Telehealth is available if you are outside our home visit area. Contact us to check your location.
